Rescue At Channel Marker 8

Actors Sher Lee and Anthony Sammaro are back again, this time telling the tale about the rescue of a young osprey. Robert Christiansen of the Colonial Beach Performing Arts Association wrote the script which is an adaptation of a book about the rescue written by Jennifer Keats Curtis. After viewing the video, can you think of anything you can do to help the ospreys, or maybe something you can suggest to others?

_________________________________________________________________________We are deeply grateful for this contribution to the Osprey Festival by local thespians from the Colonial Beach Playhouse. They are another treasure that make Colonial Beach such a wonderful place to live and visit. Their wonderful productions have had to be suspended due to the Coronavirus. So we are delighted that their talents can be showcased on the Colonial Beach Osprey Festival website. You can also see this video on their website, at www.cbplayhouse.org, and donate there to help keep the arts alive in Colonial Beach-- even during the pandemic. In addition to this video, CBPAA will be producing a radio play on WWER and perhaps a talent or variety show. It also has a Facebook page as well as its website. Donations to Downtown Colonial Beach will be dedicated to installing landscaping and planting trees in Colonial Beach along Colonial Avenue--more habitat for our feathered friends! Just click the Donate button at the top of this page to support these efforts. Downtown Colonial Beach is a Main Street America and VA Main Street affiliate, working to revitalize the community’s downtown through beautification and preservation-based development. Any amount is appreciated and enters you into a raffle for a novel work of art in acrylic on mylar by Eric Nelson titled “Successful Catch” or one of the adorable “osprey chicks” created by fabric artist Judith McIrvin. _________________________________________________________________________ Check back on our virtual Osprey Festival website to hear about the osprey rescue that occurred here in Colonial Beach.
